We are seeking a Social Media Specialist to work closely with our Product Marketing and Communications teams, creating content for Opera’s social media channels on a global scale. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, proactive, organized, and able to multitask, with a strong service mindset and excellent English skills. You will help engage and grow Opera’s social community of over 16 million followers, while being a recognized public voice of the company online.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create compelling and engaging content for local and global audiences on various social platforms—yes, memes included.

  • Collaborate with the Social Media and Product Marketing teams to support brand initiatives.

  • Stay ahead of social media trends, best practices, and new technologies, helping shape Opera’s strategy.

  • Maintain a positive brand image through customer engagement and feedback to product teams.

  • Deliver reports on social media performance, including competitive analysis and campaign results.

  • Plan and execute influencer-driven campaigns.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in communications, marketing, social media, or content creation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (CV must be in English).

  • Proficiency with major platforms: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter/X.

  • Strong understanding of online trends and digital marketing practices.

  • Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure.

  • Familiarity with tech and the web.

  • Data analysis skills, especially in Google Sheets/Excel.

  • Self-motivated, independent, and capable of driving projects forward.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience setting up paid campaigns on social media.

  • Experience creating short-form video content and memes as part of a content strategy.
