Hours

Sunday - Wednesday, midnight - 8:00am (40 hours/week)

Summary

Reporting to the Post Supervisor, the Security Officer provides security services to GSSC clients. Responsibilities include enforcing security policies, monitoring alarm systems, maintaining access control, and performing interior and exterior patrols of assigned facilities and surrounding areas.

Security Officer Job Responsibilities

Observe and report activities and incidents at client sites
Patrol assigned site on foot or by vehicle, checking for hazards, security violations, and unauthorized persons
Enforce security regulations and procedures according to Post Orders and Facility Security Plans
Respond to client inquiries promptly
Monitor CCTV and alarm systems and respond appropriately
Ensure functionality of CCTV and alarm systems
React appropriately in emergency situations according to Post Orders
Generate clear and concise written reports of shift activities
Maintain safe driving practices and vehicle care
Promote teamwork and a positive working environment
Ensure compliance with GSSC policies, federal regulations, state statutes, and client contract specifications
Interact professionally with clients, vendors, contractors, and the public
Provide excellent customer service
Perform additional duties as required according to business needs

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read, write, and speak English
U.S. Citizen or lawfully authorized to work in the United States
Pass state and federal background checks and drug screen
Meet applicable licensing requirements
Strong communication, administrative, customer service, and organizational skills
Successfully complete GSSC Basic Training
Basic computer skills
Critical thinking ability
Professional and positive attitude while maintaining confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record
1+ year of experience in security, law enforcement, or military
Military, veteran, law enforcement, corrections, or security-related experience

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements

Seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly
Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, including stairs and uneven terrain
Frequent lifting/moving up to 10 lbs, occasional lifting/moving up to 25 lbs
Ability to push, pull, or drag an adult to safety
Work mostly indoors with occasional outdoor activities subject to seasonal changes
Safe operation of a motor vehicle for extended periods
Meet state, county, and municipal licensing requirements
