About The Alfred Heart Centre
The Alfred Heart Centre is dedicated to assessing and treating adult patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. Our services include management of coronary, valvular, heart muscle, and heart rhythm disorders. We operate outpatient clinics, investigation suites, and inpatient services for local patients and individuals from across Australia. About The Role
The Administration Officer will be part of the Specialist Clinics – Alfred Heart Centre administration team, reporting to the Administration Supervisor. This role involves carrying out a variety of administrative, reception, and clerical tasks to support the daily operations of the clinics. The focus is on delivering high-quality customer service to patients, carers, and health professionals, while ensuring compliance with both internal and government reporting standards.
Key responsibilities include:

Reception duties and patient enquiries

Clinic preparation and electronic appointment scheduling

Managing referrals and providing telephone support

Data entry and record management
Skills and Experience
Desirable:
-
Experience in administrative roles (hospital environment preferred)
-
Customer-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence

Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel (foundational level)
-
Knowledge of confidentiality and privacy legislation
-
Understanding of medical terminology
-
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
