Hybrid to our Caledonia, MI Office Location
- For this internship opportunity we are seeking someone who is able to work full time during the summer and then continue to work part time during the school year.
- This is a hybrid & paid internship that is located in Caledonia, MI in our Farmers office location.
What You’ll Do As a Farmers Intern
- You will develop crucial and highly valuable development skills as well as soft skills through the course of your internship. This is an opportunity to work alongside accomplished professionals and gain valuable skills for your future. Additionally, you will learn how we use innovation and technology to drive our business forward and through project work, job shadowing, hands on work experience, and exposure to Farmers leadership teams to expand your knowledge and experience. Some duties of a Development Intern include:
- Work closely with Developers to learn our applications.
- Evaluate business impact of application bugs and data issues
- Clearly communicates complex technical concepts and data insights.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring As a Farmers Intern
- Ability to analyze spftware applications to address and solve business problems.
- Familiarity with development tools, SQL, XML, ETL and DB2.
- Preferred but not required: IBM Data Studio or SQL Server.
- A passion for learning and development.
- Willingness to independently learn and make an impact within a team environment.
- Self-motivated, an excellent problem solver and a quick learner.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Education You’ll Need
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors (BS/BA) or Masters (MS/MA) degree in Mathematics or Computer Science.
- You must be a student enrolled in an accredited college during the duration of the internship.
- Specifically, a rising Junior or Senior level undergraduate student or graduate student.
