Provides analytical management assistance by planning, coordinating, and directing programs, conducting surveys and studies, and special projects.


Essential Functions


  •  Special project assignment(s);
  •  Serves as member of strategic planning team;
  •  Conduct various studies and prepares reports for the department as directed;
  •  Collect and analyze information to assist in the decision-making process;
  •  Compile data and present multiple suggestions, options, and/or solutions for projects as assigned;
  •  Work with various departments to ensure progress of time-sensitive projects;
  •  Prepare associated paperwork and work with other City departments as well as others outside the organization to ensure thorough analysis and prompt response to needs;
  •  Attend business meetings with stakeholders;
  •  Provide administrative assistance;
  •  Assist with project implementation and construction oversight;
  •  Manage the fuel program of the City;
  •  Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Completion of a bachelor degree in public administration, business administration or a related field with an additional one year of experience in governmental administration involving the analysis of administrative concerns and the development of policies and procedures, or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following:


Valid Driver's License


Knowledge And Abilities


Knowledge of:


  •  Principles of public or business administration including organization, personnel, and fiscal management;
  •  Basic accounting concepts;
  •  Basic management concepts;
  •  Excel software (high proficiency);
  •  Statistical concepts and methods;
  •  General analytical procedures.


Ability To


  •  Pass the Class A/B Underground Storage Tank Operator certification within six months from the date of hire;
  •  Effectively administer assigned programs;
  •  Perform both complex and routine administrative work with speed and accuracy;
  •  Interpret and apply established policies, procedures, and codes;
  •  Establish and maintain accurate records;
  •  Plan, administer, and evaluate work programs;
  •  Gather, interpret and analyze information;
  •  Draw valid conclusions and project consequences of decisions and recommendations;
  •  Prepare studies and reports concerning complex matters;
  •  Write proposals for departments projects;
  •  Set priorities, meet deadlines, and make sound decisions;
  •  Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  •  Maintain effective working relationships with others and Citys vendors.
  •  Work independently with minimal supervision.


Physical Requirements


  •  Frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds;
  •  Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds;
  •  Occasionally walk during the shift;
  •  Occasionally climb stairs and other inclined surfaces;
  •  Occasionally bend and kneel during the shift.
