BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST

JOB SUMMARY:

Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for helping businesses leverage data and identify opportunities for improvement, spot trends, as well as recognize potential issues and offer solutions. Also, this position is responsible for working with data to improve efficiency, increase productivity, and drive profits for the business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize company resources to curate data.
• Analyze data for market trends and patterns.
• Generate weekly and monthly reports with market trends past and present.
• Standardize data and report consumption across all customer groups.
• Ensure that all data reporting is in context and provides analysis that drives decisions.
• Design new data collection models to better collect information.
• Consult with management and relevant stakeholders to define goals.
• Research, develop and implement data-gathering methods.
• Analyze and synthesizing data.
• Report back on findings and suggesting solutions.
• Collaborate with coworkers and management to implement improvements.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
• Analyze user requirements and ensure reports are validated prior to usage.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related quantitative discipline.
• 2 - 3 years of work experience of analyzing and interpreting data as a Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Engineer, or at a similar capacity.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, including experience with problem/issue definition and identifying and executing analytical approaches to examining a wide range of strategic questions.
• Excellent quantitative and qualitative business research and analysis skills.
• Ability to understand and analyze strategic and financial data, and experience synthesizing results from various analyses (e.g. customer needs, competitive positioning) to support strategy formation.
• Strong conceptual knowledge of databases and reporting tools required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Business Intelligence tool preferred.
• Experience querying databases and writing reports preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize, and follow-through on project assignments under time pressure and tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes of the automotive industry.
• Able to thrive in a collaborative, cross functional environment.
• Ability to positively influence others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Android’s plant IT system (BASS).
• Microsoft Office suite experience.
