The Ideal Candidate
The Senior Accountant will ensure the integrity of both internal and external accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions and assisting Corporate Accounting management with the preparation, review, and analysis of financial information.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Reviews selected financial statement accounts for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Prepares and records various journal entries for the consolidated company monthly, quarterly, and / or annually.
- Compiles and distributes financial information on an as needed basis.
- Assists Corporate Accounting management with special projects / analysis and accounting research on an ad hoc basis.
- Prepares various account analysis and reconciliations for the consolidated company.
- Gathers data and prepare analysis for external financial auditors, internal auditors, and / or bank auditors.
- Key contributor of the financial close process (monthly / quarterly / annually).
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting principles.
- Maintains appropriate supporting documents to ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX documentation.
- Assists Corporate Accounting management with the execution and maintenance of SOX required documentation.
- Lead and support the company’s SOX compliance efforts, including documenting internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), process narratives, risk assessments, risk control matrices and management responses and remediation.
- Collaborate with external auditors, internal auditors and accounting and finance management to ensure SOX compliance is achieved and maintained.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Corporate Accounting department.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting functions
Experience And Skills You'll Need To Have
- Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Accounting and/or Finance
- 4+ years of relevant experience either in industry or public accounting
- CPA certification (or working towards certification)
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Excel is required (PeopleSoft skills preferred)
- Willing and able to maintain confidentiality on sensitive subject matters
- Strong analytical and research skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good people skills and ability to function as a team player in meeting critical deadlines
