Manager, D2C Marketing Campaigns

The D2C Marketing Campaign Manager will be responsible for collaborating with key business and marketing partners to craft compelling marketing campaigns to support D2C business commitments and key brand building customer-facing campaigns that grow marketing-driven revenue and drive lead generation through brand building campaigns. The ideal candidate has successfully helped contribute to growing a new brand or breaking into a new category or customer segment. Market-intelligent, competitor-aware, and customer-obsessed, this candidate will bring marketing strategy, insights craft, and rigor to this role and team.
Responsibilities:
Campaign Planning:
- Partner with the marketing strategic lead and cross-functional team for each campaign topic ensuring alignment on marketing campaign approach, including channel activation, customer target, customer needs and insights, positioning, messaging hierarchy, promo integration and product stories.
- Write compelling and clear creative briefs for various marketing assets, ensuring they align with overall campaign objectives and brand messaging. Succinctly articulate target audience, key messages and hierarchy and desired outcomes in each brief.
- At the direction of the marketing lead, develop appropriate creative brief to support strategic and targeted deployment across marketing channels, including email, social media (organic and paid), search engine marketing, affiliate marketing, content marketing, influencer partnerships, direct mail, events, and more.
- Manage timelines and workflow to ensure campaigns are briefed-in and completed on schedule.
- Maintain detailed records of campaign activities, feedback, and iterations for future reference.
- Marketing Campaign Briefing, Creative Development & Launch: Develop and oversee successful execution of digital-first, omnichannel marketing campaigns.
- Develop compelling and insightful communication briefs and lead creative team through creative development and execution to produce high-impact marketing assets.
- Provide constructive and consolidated stakeholder feedback on creative work to ensure it meets the brief’s objectives, messaging hierarchy and enhance creative output.
- Manage the launch of final creative assets, ensuring minimal rounds of drafts and efficient turnaround times.
- Partner with the strategic marketing lead, marketing deployment and analytics team to measure campaign performance metrics and analyze results to identify areas for optimization on the creative.
- Implement necessary adjustments to improve campaign effectiveness and achieve desired outcomes.
- Customer Insights & Market Research: Become well versed in acquisition customer targets, understanding the differentiated customer needs, challenges and the sports and business category to test and learn.
- Build campaigns rooted in a deep understanding of customer behavior and are tailored to meet their evolving needs.
- Leverage consumer insights, market and business data, and trends to translate into actionable consumer driven marketing plans and communications
- Identify ways to improve the customer experience and innovate with key acquisition customer segments by staying informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to keep BSN SPORTS at the forefront of acquisition marketing.
- Campaign Marketing Thought-Leadership: Collaborate and influence across cross-functional business segments and sports category leaders and teams to effectively build and execute an aligned approach to meet business goals for each key target customer.
- Drive collaboration and alignment, and most importantly build trust, across multiple cross-functional partners (Marketing, Collegiate, Club/Select, Category Management, Sales, Merchandising, Digital, Innovation) needed to develop the marketing campaigns.
- Help guide leadership and cross-functional partner decisions to optimize marketing planning, campaign development, process and explore new areas to drive more efficiency and stronger performance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years in a result-oriented marketing, ecomm marketing, brand building, lead gen marketing, or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or equivalent work experience
- Success with collaborating across large cross-functional teams, project coordination and relentless execution & follow up
- Proficiency in marketing project management platforms.
- Customer & Market Research – Proven expertise in customer insights, research methodologies, and customer journey mapping.
- Marketing planning – this role involves strong strategic direction to develop and successfully implement acquisition marketing tests, techniques and approaches.
- Presentation skills – excellent communication and presentation skills to business leaders and partners
- Creative – demonstrated ability to gather consumer insights through quantitative and qualitative research and translate into creative marketing communications, initiatives or solutions
- Customer Research & Insights– strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable strategies; knowledge of conducting A/B testing and assessing customer engagement and measuring marketing program success
- Project Management – effectively manage workflows and deliverables for marketing campaigns, so a background in project management is essential
- Cross-functional management – as evidenced by the ability to work with support functions such as Sales, Marketing, Creative, Merchandising and Finance
- Strong problem-solving capabilities – as evidenced by a track record of finding feasible solutions to complex problems, especially in an environment with incomplete information and tight timelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills – develop marketing and branding language and copy, and communicate between teams
