Role Overview
As a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC), you will be the first point of contact and a key liaison between patients, physicians, and clinic staff. This role goes beyond scheduling—you’ll manage the administrative flow of patient care, coordinate insurance and authorizations, and ensure each patient receives the highest standard of service from their first call to their follow-up appointment.

Job Highlights
  • Hourly Rate: USD 4.41, the equivalent in your local currency
  • Paid Hours per Week: 40
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, flexibility to do weekend work as well (Central Time)
  • Work Arrangement: Work from home
  • Contract: Independent Contractor
Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for new and returning patients, providing exceptional customer service over phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments for sleep studies, consultations, and follow-ups across multiple clinic locations.
  • Manage physician referrals, ensuring accurate and timely transfer of records and information.
  • Verify patient insurance details and coordinate pre-authorizations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the clinic’s management and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Communicate with patients regarding preparation for appointments, test instructions, and follow-up requirements.
  • Collaborate with medical teams to optimize scheduling efficiency and patient flow.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as maintaining appointment logs, managing documentation, and processing basic billing or payment inquiries.
  • Monitor upcoming appointments and follow up with patients to minimize cancellations and no-shows.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a healthcare administrative role such as Patient Care Coordinator, Medical Scheduler, or Medical Receptionist.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and patient billing processes preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional and empathetic demeanor.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable using EHR and scheduling systems; ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Reliable internet connection and a professional home office setup.
  • Ability to work full-time US Central Time hours.
