Job Overview
As a Medical Authorization Specialist, you’ll navigate the complex world of US insurance systems to secure vital approvals for patient sleep studies and treatments. This position offers exceptional exposure to American healthcare insurance processes while providing the satisfaction of directly enabling patient access to important medical services. You’ll work with cutting-edge systems and develop expertise in insurance authorization procedures.


Job Highlights
  • Paid Hours per Week: 40
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with 1 hour unpaid break | Central Time
  • Work Arrangement: Work from home
  • Contract: Independent Contractor
Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain prior authorizations from various insurance companies for sleep studies and related procedures
  • Thoroughly review insurance benefits and coverage details for patient procedures
  • Communicate professionally with insurance representatives to secure timely approvals
  • Accurately document all authorization details in patient management systems
  • Proactively follow up on pending authorization requests to ensure patient care continuity

Requirements

  • Fluent English communication skills with ability to speak clearly and confidently with US insurance representatives
  • Previous experience working with US insurance systems strongly preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and persistence in follow-up processes
  • Ability to work US Central Time hours consistently
