**About the Role**
We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team at Peoples Bank. This role is vital to delivering outstanding customer experiences by assisting clients with their banking transactions, providing product information, and supporting their financial needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of banking products and services, and the ability to handle a variety of customer inquiries with professionalism and efficiency. Key Responsibilities**
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in person, via telephone, and email, ensuring a friendly and welcoming environment.
- Handle daily banking transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, and check balancing accurately and efficiently.
- Develop a working knowledge of bank systems (such as Vertex, Synergy, and Silverlake) to process transactions correctly and efficiently.
- Support customers with maintenance requests, including address changes, check orders, and reconciling checkbooks.
- Assist customers with online banking, mobile banking, e-statements, and other digital services to enhance their banking experience.
- Cross-sell bank products and services when appropriate, including debit cards, savings accounts, CDs, IRAs, safe deposit boxes, and more.
- Process night deposits, record items, and verify currency to ensure accuracy and security.
- Follow procedures for safe deposit box access and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and assist with vault, ATM, and coin vault transactions.
- Support the overall sales efforts by promoting bank services such as ATM cards, direct deposit, and referral opportunities.
- Participate in bank campaigns and initiatives to drive business growth.
- Stay informed of banking laws, regulations, and compliance policies, including BSA, privacy, and funds availability policies.
- Support the opening and closing procedures of the branch following bank protocols.
- Assist with other bank activities or duties as needed, contributing to a team-oriented environment.
Required Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent; some work-related experience preferred.
- One to two years of experience in customer service, preferably in a banking or office environment.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and work in a typical office setting.
