The hourly pay range for this position, based out of Syracuse, NY, is $24.22- $35.89. The actual rate of pay offered will vary based on applicant’s relevant skills, education, experience, certifications and geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs



What you'll be doing:


  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to the Accounting Department as well as to other departments within the company.
  • Daily cash reporting duties.
  • Daily weekly and monthly sales report reconciliations.
  • Managing month end including open/close periods, inventory reporting, accrual reversals, etc.
  • Preparing journal entries and posting to the GL.
  • Preparation of monthly financial statement packages (includes P&L, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows and related analysis/supplemental schedules), including working with managers/directors on questions.
  • Preliminary budget to actual analysis.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including cash/bank reconciliation.
  • Review and maintain accuracy of data in Planful reporting tool.
  • Preliminary review of expense account reconciliation to identify out of the ordinary transactions.
  • Preparation of Daily Sales Results (Flash) Reconciliation
  • Maintain Fixed Asset (CCH) program, including verifying and labeling equipment annually or as needed.
  • Assist with annual and interim financial audits, including supplemental schedule preparation.
  • Develop/update department procedures, as necessary.
  • Expense account reconciliation.
  • Responsible for other projects as assigned and other recurring duties.



What we're looking for:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. In lieu of degree, four years relevant experience will be considered.
  • Two years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Progress towards CPA licensure a plus
  • General knowledge of US GAAP, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
  • Systems knowledge of Oracle, Planful and/or PowerBI a plus.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, while demonstrating strong attention to detail and appreciation of deadlines is essential.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
  • Strong understanding of basic Excel functions, pivot tables and simple macros.
  • Ability to use Windows based computer systems and Microsoft Office applications, with proficiency in Word, and Excel (spreadsheet proficiency).
