Role


We are seeking a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our accounting team at Amangiri. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily income audit, managing accounts receivable, contract and insurance administration, and assisting the accounting team with various financial tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, be highly organized, and thrive in a collaborative environment. This position is based in Canyon Point, Utah, and reports to the Accounting Manager.


Responsibilities


  • Conduct daily income audits, including preparing general ledger accounting entries and summarizing adjustments with supporting documentation.
  • Audit transactions and provide assistance to Operations with the recording of these transactions.
  • Investigate, document, and respond to credit card disputes, maintaining accurate credit card tracking files.
  • Input petty cash and paid outs into the accounting system on a weekly basis.
  • Perform monthly inventory counts and update supporting documentation according to established procedures.
  • Complete month-end tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in administering the procure-to-pay system (Birchstreet).
  • Administer and maintain contracts, insurance certificates, and vehicle files.
  • Prepare monthly accounting entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare billing invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on collections promptly.

  • Requirements

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in accounting, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with various software, including Opera, Micros, Birchstreet, accounting software, and MS Office.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all financial processes.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude to work effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and reconciliations.
