How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
This St. Louis, Missouri based Sales Account Executive will be responsible for growing existing business predominantly within the St. Louis market but will also have responsibilities for Michigan based accounts. The Sales Account Executive is responsible for maximizing global revenues and market share, focusing on premium revenue with Delta and its Joint Venture partners.
The successful candidate must be domiciled or willing to relocate to the St. Louis area.
Primary Responsibilities In This Role Include The Following
- Building, maintaining, and managing consultative enterprise relationships with all account stakeholders, at varying levels, up to and including C-Suite
- Participating in the execution of the annual account Flight Plan and overall divisional sales objectives
- Performance analysis of agreement to identify premium revenue growth opportunities and defining/executing on plan to win the business
- Planning and implementing initiatives that support key commercial priorities for Delta and its Joint Venture and alliance partners
- Maintaining high level industry knowledge including evaluating industry programs & practices to ensure Delta and its Joint Venture partners remain competitive
- Presenting Delta and its Joint Venture partners’ key sales messages to various audiences, from travel counselor to leadership level
- This position involves community/industry engagement, representing Delta/JV partners at local organizations and events while cultivating new and existing community relationships
- Maintaining strong relationships with STL airport staff
- Primary responsibilities include taking a consultative approach toward building, maintaining, and managing agency and corporate relationships, contract negotiation, implementation, performance evaluation, and maintenance of agreements across key customer contacts

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)
- Competitive candidates will have a strong sales background including proven results in the following: business development, client relationship management, critical analysis and executive engagement
- Minimum of 5 years sales and account management experience is required
- Strong orientation towards consultative client management and understanding of how to create and maintain profitable business relationships with assigned accounts
- Excellent interpersonal and business decision making skills are required
- Proven analytical skills and ability to produce action plans based on data and market intelligence
- Must be able to manage change with resilience and display tremendous drive and commitment
- Strong skills in written and verbal communications, negotiation, time management, planning and presentation
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to disseminate information professionally according to Delta values
- Candidate must be available to travel domestically/internationally and work additional hours and days as needed
- Candidate should possess an overall knowledge of company procedures and policies
- Must be proficient in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Must be highly effective working in a St. Louis based virtual office while building relationships customers and team members
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in business or related fields
- Recent experience with airline, hospitality or meetings and events
- Strong professional demeanor, be able to work under pressure, meet short deadlines, balance multiple rapidly shifting priorities with little direct supervision. Knowledge of and experience managing corporate agreements, with a premium focus is preferred
- Ability to navigate smoothly in a constantly challenging and ambiguous, highly competitive market
