Under the direction of the Media Relations Manager and in partnership with the Digital Media Manager and Advertising Manager, the Media Coordinator is a non-exempt position that supports audience growth, school enrollment, and fundraising through Public Relations, Traditional Advertising, and Digital Media efforts. This role is a unique opportunity to gain experience across all media functions as a key member of a dynamic and collaborative Marketing team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

General


  • Assist in executing digital media campaigns across platforms (social, web, email, etc.)
  • Monitor campaign performance and help prepare reports with key insights and analytics
  • Stay up-to-date with trends in media, marketing, and social platforms
  • Provide administrative support to the media and marketing team as needed
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, copywriters, and video editors to ideate and produce engaging media assets
  • Assist with content brainstorming and writing copy for emails and the behind-the-scenes section of our website
  • Assist in tracking media budgets, vendor communications, and ad placements 
  • Help to maintain digital asset management system
  • Support providing on-site staffing at events and content shoots.

 

Social Media


  • Support the drafting and scheduling of social media content
  • Copywrite for organic posts
  • Track Social Media sentiment
  • Create Social Media Kits
  • Research influencers and supporting growth of influencer strategy
  • Create event briefs and supporting event execution
  • Track results across all platforms
  • Maintain archival tracker for social content
  • Advertising


  • Help monitor radio and tv campaigns to make sure all spots are running at the right times and rates
  • Follow up with advertising partners for campaign reports, invoices, proposals, etc.
  • Assist Advertising Manager with keeping up to date lists of media contacts, media kits, and events in the Boston area
  • Support the Advertising Manager submitting ads when needed and responding to inbound emails
  • Prepare physical marketing materials for pick up (posters, t-shirts, etc.)
  • Process and track invoices
  • Public Relations

  • Support copywriting and proofreading as needed
  • Research earned media opportunities and generate ideas for pitching
  • Help maintain press trackers and media list
  • Update and maintain organization style guide 
  • Support ticketing and tracking of press attendance
  • Support overseeing the press inbox

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working in a professional marketing environment or related project
  • Experience leveraging social media and platforms for marketing purposes
  • Competency in Microsoft office tools such as excel, PowerPoint, and Office365
  • Ability to work independently and with a cross-functional team to effectively handle multiple projects and stakeholders while driving toward deadlines
  • Strong communications, organization, analytical and troubleshooting skills plus and attention to detail
  • Eager to learn a variety of skills related to management of Media for an arts organization
  • Self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to represent the Ballet with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Interest in and working knowledge of ballet
  • This is a hybrid role composed of both in person and remote work, with the requirement of an in-person days as needed and a recurring team day on Tuesdays. Candidates must have reliable access to transportation for in-office days and events around the city of Boston. Some weekends and evenings required throughout the year. Candidates must have dependable access to the internet in order to complete remote work or ability to work from 19 Clarendon Street, Monday-Friday.
