Description

The Marketing and Communications Specialist will assist College of Law leadership develop and implement an integrated strategic communication and marketing plan that will advance the Law School's strategic goals and objectives. The plan's goal is to support strategic enrollment growth as well as increase local and national awareness of the law school's educational, research, and public service activities. Central to this effort will be to ensure clear and consistent representation of the law school's mission and visual identities across a range of media platforms and in a variety of content forms.

This position supports overall marketing and communication strategies within the College of Law, particularly supporting the Dean's Office, Admissions Office, and University Advancement. Works closely with the Office of Marketing and Communications to ensure that promotional materials align with university branding.

Examples of Duties

  • Under the direction of the Dean and Associate Dean for Admissions, drive the marketing and communications campaigns for College of Law and its flagship programs as well as brainstorming and conceptualizing new content.
  • Serve as the College of Law liaison in University's Office of Marketing & Communications' work in designing, analyzing, and implementing marketing and communications strategies. Assist with creating graphics and copy, as needed.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the College of Law's website and conceptualize new content, as needed.
  • Manage social media channels and create compelling content.
  • Provide support to the College of Law Dean's communication pieces, such as proofreading emails, formatting presentations, editing speeches, and public relation vehicles.

Typical Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in a communication or marketing role.
  • Graphic design and copywriting experience preferred.
  • Understand the written and visual elements of effective presentations.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to proofread for contextual, grammatical, typographical, and spelling errors. Can write quickly and well. Superior attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in various communication tools, project management software, and digital marketing platforms.
  • Highly organized and able to work under pressure of deadlines.
  • Proven project management experience and skills.
  • Independent worker who can get duties accomplished with limited supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative worker, and the ability to adapt quickly to new circumstances. Fluency with diverse audiences.
  • Must possess a professional appearance and have excellent customer relation skills.
  • Excellent listening skills with the ability to absorb large amounts of information.
