Examples of Work


Job Duties Include


General duties:


  •  Assists and mentors peers and subordinates
  •  Consult with clients on application issues
  •  Uses application development tools and utilities as appropriate


Systems Analysis


  •  Performs the information analysis and organization
  •  Accomplishes the information collection
  •  Prepares the solution development and evaluation


System Design & Implementation


  •  Development of the technical design
  •  Preparation of the system specifications
  •  Providing on-going support


Logical Database Design (with Minimal Assistance)


  •  Gathers requirements to build logical model for design analysis.
  •  Supports data management by creating and managing test data.
  •  Gathers requirements for data definition.


Programming & Testing


  •  Develop program code, assemble/compile code, and debug code
  •  Perform alpha/unit testing and participate in system program testing


Requirements / Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:  A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience, education, or training in coding computer applications; programming experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Crystal Reports software for developing reports and creating forms and reports is a plus. Understanding of SQL and other similar Programming languages like C# would benefit future development expectations. Some experience with reporting and visualization tools like Power BI.


Other: Position is located on-site only at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln. No remote work, and no other office locations available.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities


Crystal Reports, C++, SQL, and C#. Knowledge of additional development languages supporting evolution of the applications use of newer and modern development tools.
