Responsibilities
The Strategic Communications Graduate Assistant for the USG eCampus Enrollment & Retention Services team will work closely with the Enrollment & Retention Specialist to drive enrollment and retention efforts in eCampus programs. This position will be primarily responsible for administering outreach via phone, text, and email to a variety of student types enrolled and not-yet-enrolled in USG eCampus programs. The primary goals of facilitating this outreach will be to:
Ensure prospective, newly admitted, retained/returning, and unretained/unreturning students are aware of important dates, deadlines, policies, and procedures that impact student and institutional success outcomes.
Identify student needs and provide timely and accurate assistance or direct the student to appropriate resources in a professional manner.
Escalate student issues or concerns as needed to staff or faculty members in a professional manner.
Job Responsibilities For This Position Include The Following
- 50% - Ensure prospective, newly admitted, retained/returning, and unretained/unreturning students are aware of important dates, deadlines, policies, and procedures that impact student and institutional success outcomes.
- 20% - Identify student needs and provide timely and accurate assistance or direct the student to appropriate resources in a professional manner.
- 10% - Escalate student issues or concerns as needed to staff or faculty members in a professional manner.
- 10% - Compile, maintain, and analyze large sets of outreach and response data to be shared with partners and key stakeholders
- 5% - work independently while being strategic about how communication should be crafted, combined, and staggered to most effectively reach students and best serve their needs
- 5% - provide additional support for ongoing projects in alignment with a broad variety of relevant eCampus Enrollment & Retention goals and objectives
Required Qualifications
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must meet the following criteria:
- Students admitted provisionally to a program are not eligible for an assistantship.
- Earned a Bachelors degree.
- Have applied for and been accepted to a graduate degree program of study at UWG.
- Be enrolled as a full-time student in a graduate program of study.
- Have maintained a 3.0 GPA in previous and current graduate course work.
- Meet the requirements to be eligible for employment in the US.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Comfort conducting outreach
- Excellent customer service
- Strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience organizing and maintaining data
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
