About The Role


Lansing Building Products is seeking a strategic and creative Social Media Specialist to elevate our brand presence and engagement across key digital platforms. This role is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing B2B social media strategies that drive awareness, nurture leads, and build an engaged online community of customers, associates, and suppliers. The Specialist will lead all social media initiatives, supporting company events, associate profiles, and key internal areas such as recruiting, career growth, training, and recognition—all while promoting Lansing’s brand and culture. The ideal candidate thrives in a data-driven marketing environment and understands how to create compelling content that resonates with business decision-makers.


Key Responsibilities


Strategy & Execution


  • Develop and implement a results-driven social media strategy aligned with overall marketing and business goals.
  • Manage and grow Lansing’s presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and other relevant B2B channels.
  • Plan and execute organic social campaigns to increase engagement, lead generation, and brand awareness.
  • Establish an optimal posting schedule and cadence to support campaign objectives and enhance social engagement.


Content Development & Engagement


  • Create and curate high-quality, industry-relevant content, including posts, articles, infographics, and short-form videos.
  • Partner with internal teams (HR, Communications, Marketing, Sales) to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.
  • Collaborate with vendor partners to develop unique, Lansing-owned product content.
  • Actively engage with customers, industry partners, and influencers to grow Lansing’s online community and amplify our brand and culture.
  • Assist with managing customer reviews and responses, reinforcing Lansing’s commitment to respect, service, and excellence.


Analytics & Optimization


Track and report on key performance metrics (engagement, reach, conversions, CTR) in collaboration with the Marketing Insights team.

Conduct A/B testing and leverage data insights to refine social strategies and improve content performance.

Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activity, and platform developments to ensure Lansing’s social media strategy remains relevant and effective.


Education & Experience Requirements


Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field.

3-5+ years of professional experience in social media management and content creation.


Qualifications & Preferred Skills


  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to research, conceptualize, and develop compelling social content tailored to B2B audiences.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, best practices, and platform algorithms.
  • Experience using social media scheduling platforms (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite).
  • Knowledge of paid digital and search campaigns to enhance reach and engagement.
  • Basic proficiency in Design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Enthusiasm for working in person in a team environment, contributing to Lansing’s positive, values-driven culture.
