We are looking for a Market Analyst for a four month temporary assignment. The Market Analyst position will rigorously as a key player to support the Clark acquisitions and regional executive teams while identifying/pursuing new clients and developing geographical and business sector market share. This role requires a high energy self-starter mentality, with strong analytical and communication skills, to gain access to new relationships after sourcing and qualifying leads through numerous semi-automated techniques including but not limited to: subscription services, social media scaping, unique digital marketing-related approaches, local news alerts, community boards, networking groups, and the like. This role frequently does not have a clearly defined organizational process for every step of this multi-faceted unique endeavor, and in those instances, must effectively develop their own approach while delivering results.

- Be an integral part of winning attractive work by creatively sourcing relationships with qualified
develop/win.
Understand key aspects of our business
- Through regular in-office engagement, understand key aspects of our business, repeat clients, and the pulse
of industry. Participate in project site walks and become familiar with unique (sometimes technical) aspects
of projects that we can use as examples/experience to gain a stronger client base.
- Understand the long-term life cycle of Clark construction projects and our business at large. Develop a
detailed understanding of why certain projects are more attractive than others to regional leadership.
- Find other ways to gain Clark project and other pertinent industry related knowledge.
- Actively seek to transform lessons learned (both from pursuits and delivery phase) into process
improvements adjusting the relationships/projects we pursue and how we pursue them.
Compile supporting analysis to accompany notable recommendations to leadership, when needed.
Own framework for evaluating new clients / markets
- Understand actual pursuit spend and timeline horizons vs. win rates, target status, etc for our key markets.
- After gathering key information (from internal and external sources), perform analysis of new markets.
Make recommendations to leadership where efforts could be ramped up or scaled back
accordingly.
Set groundwork for new relationships
- Coordinate and collaborate with marketing managers when necessary to maintain corporate standards for
new relationship engagement.
- Source quality relationship leads, catered to our business planning and competitive advantages.
Prioritize potential relationships that could grow into long term partnerships, when possible.
- Track competitor projects and relationships, identify which makes the most sense to aggressively pursue vs.
less aggressive engagement.
Identify developers who are most likely to seek (or respond to outreach from) a new GC.
- Recommend strategies to engage potential clients and own process implementation of those efforts.
Find unique ways to digitally strengthen the market’s brand awareness of Clark to hyper-targeted
audiences, beyond our existing client base.
Additional efforts may include, but not limited to: targeted online/social media engagement, Clark
content distribution, industry event sponsorship/panel participation, philanthropy engagement, key
subcontractor relationships, etc.
Source and develop early leads
- Actively track all publicly known leads through lead generation software, media, google alerts, etc.
Find ways to accurately automate where possible.
- Find, track, and manage leads that wouldn’t have otherwise been aggressively tracked through current
approaches.
Source development deals through unique means (land sale tracking, other municipal applications,
formal listings, off-market solicitations, etc.) before media or other General Contractor’s would
Otherwise Know About Them.
- Research leads to build-out understanding of attractive opportunities and framework for Win Plans,
Including
Profile of potential client such as project history, preferred contractors / designers, and top concern
areas.
Profile of likely competitors such as work portfolio, history with client, and known go-to-market
strategies.
- Assertively ensure that quality leads are properly pursued.
Categorize attractiveness of each lead based on fit 2with Clark business focus, develop a strong
framework for categorization (per below section).
Enter lead, source, and analysis information into Salesforce, develop data as additional
information becomes available.
Educate senior teammates on attractive leads and ensure proper outreach / follow up by the right
person(s) (i.e. manage up).
- Analyze and manage lead generation quality.
Review available lead generation Software (Dodge, Yimby, Chicago Cityscape, Salesforce AI,
other news sources, etc), and validate quality/timeliness of data.
Make recommendations on new software/subscription services if required to provide unique
opportunities that we wouldn’t have access to otherwise.
Find and create additional ways to grow our business through unique means
- Aggressively pursue new means to win work and grow market share, while maintaining corporate
standards.
Clark offers a total compensation package that includes base salary, bonus potential, and a comprehensive benefits package including health/dental/vision benefits, paid time off, retirement/401k, and Company Contribution plan. Additional benefits include life insurance, commuter benefit, short & long term disability, fitness reimbursement, FSA, tuition reimbursement, back-up daycare, tutoring & family support benefits, EAP/Work-Life assistance, and a holiday contribution program. For this role the base salary range is $60,000 - $85,000. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
